Swansea’s Local Area Energy Plan

A Local Area Energy Plan (LAEP) is a process and plan for a local area to transition to a net-zero carbon energy system. It's a data-driven, collaborative, and cost-effective approach that translates national net zero targets into local action. LAEPs are led by local authorities and developed with stakeholders, considering the whole energy system and identifying the changes needed to meet the local net zero goals.

Swansea Council worked regionally with Pembrokeshire, Carmarthenshire and Neath-Port Talbot to develop a Regional LAEP and each local authority then takes responsibility for delivery in their area.
